Belize Service Trip
As a member of the 2016 Dickinson College Service Trip I enhanced my cultural understanding as I developed skills in leadership. Service in Belize focused on sustainable agriculture education in primary school curriculum. Our service trip also focused on physical labor to help develop gardening at schools to teach students about agriculture and help provide school lunches with low-cost and healthy vegetables.
Global Ambassador
At Dickinson College I am a Global Ambassador for the Center for Global Study and Engagement. As a Global Ambassador my responsibilities are to mentor and advise Dickinson students who are considering studying abroad in the School for Field Study program. I assist in program development, program promotion and marketing, and planning and facilitation of events, activities, and programming.
South Caicos Service
During weekly community service days I taught snorkel and swim lessons. I also mentored and tudored students at a local grade school. Beach clean-ups were conducted on a bi-weekly basis to remove plastics and debris.
Phoenix Volunteer Club
Phoenix Volunteer Club is an all-women service club at Dickinson College. We work closely with a local organization called Furry Friends Network. Through this network, rescued animals are placed in foster homes while adoptive homes are found. Phoenix volunteers work to raise money, walk dogs, and work at adoption events. We also work with a local organization called Project Share. We help with glraning, which involves visiting farms to collect leftover food after fields have already been commercially harvested. Project Share also focuses on distribution to provide recipients with food throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
Liberty Cap Society
As a member of the Liberty Cap Society I am a Dickinson College campus tour guide. I communicate my undergraduate experience with indiviudals, families, and large groups.
